How to Apply
The foundation has an online, two-phase application system comprised of a short concept application, followed by a limited number of invited full proposals.
The concept application (or LOI) is open two times per year:
- October 15 – December 22
- May 1 – June 15
To complete the application, go to the online portal linked here.
Sign in using an existing account, or create an account if you have not applied before. When creating a new account, non-U.S. organizations should enter 12-1234567 as the Tax ID. This will allow you to complete your registration without a U.S. tax-ID.
Access code: CFHgrants
This is the only access code.
There is no automatic email containing an access code when you create a new account.
On your portal dashboard, click “APPLY” at the top of the page. Type the access code CFHgrants and hit the Enter key to search. If you have applied before, click the button that says “Applied” for the option to apply again.
Submit your online concept application between October 15 and December 22 or between May 1 and June 15. If the deadline is a weekend or U.S. holiday, the deadline moves to the next business day. We will notify you within a month of the concept application deadline whether you are invited to submit a full proposal. Send in only one application per review cycle.
